The Lived Life

“I will not die an unlived life.

I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire.

I choose to inhabit my days,

to allow my living to open me,

to make me less afraid,

more accessible,

to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing,

a torch, a promise.

I choose to risk my significance;

to live so that which comes to me

as seed goes to the next as blossom

and that which comes to me as blossom,

goes on as fruit.”

~Dawna Markova

  After settling in after my whirlwind yoga-filled summer I feel that I have become lazy.  Maybe lazy is the wrong word….how about, comfortable not having a strict schedule with which I have to adhere to.  ;)) I will admit it.  When I’m not getting up at 5:50 am to make it to mandatory satsung or trying to get in three yoga classes a day at Gaia Flow Yoga, I feel as though I am not doing anything!!  Why is this?  I’ve been contemplating this for the past week or so.

For me, when my day is filled with that which enlivens me, I feel ALIVE!  Ready to take on the world.  There is nothing I can not do, can not conquer, can not open my heart up to.  Sure at the end of the day I may be exhausted, but my sleep is deep because my day was really lived. When I find myself wandering off this path of passion, I feel lethargic, lazy, and uninspired.  This is why I turn to this prose by Dawna Markova.  It reminds me that I was meant to live a full “LIVED” life. And so are you.  We all are.  It is our divine right as souls having a physical experience, to do so unabashedly.  So take that risk.  Be an inspiration. Be courageous beyond your wildest dreams.  And when you leave this earth you will have left it  a more beautiful place.

From my open heart to yours,
